Blood plasma volume expansion through the replacement of albumin and globulins is a therapeutic strategy used to increase the intravascular fluid volume. This is achieved by supplementing or replacing key plasma proteins, primarily albumin and globulins, which are responsible for maintaining colloid osmotic pressure. The increased oncotic pressure draws fluid from interstitial spaces into the bloodstream, effectively expanding blood plasma volume.
