BLTP3B divergent transcript (BLTP3B-DT) is a long non-coding RNA annotated as a divergent transcript from the promoter region of the UHRF1BP1L gene (BLTP3B). Divergent transcription refers to the bidirectional transcribing activity of RNA polymerase II at gene promoters, generating a protein-coding mRNA in one direction and a noncoding RNA in the other. These divergent lncRNAs, such as BLTP3B-DT, may regulate gene expression through mechanisms including modifying chromatin structure, recruiting transcriptional machinery, or creating competitive promoter environments. However, for BLTP3B-DT specifically, no experimentally validated functional studies or therapeutic relevance have been reported. It is classified as a long non-coding RNA belonging to the broad family of divergent transcripts, and does not encode a protein. Current genomic databases list it as a noncoding transcript, and there is no evidence for its involvement in disease, biomarker utility, or drug interactions.
