BMP2K-DT refers to a noncoding RNA transcribed in the opposite direction to the coding BMP2K gene, most likely as a product of divergent transcription—a widespread genomic phenomenon where transcription initiates bidirectionally at gene promoters, producing noncoding, often unstable, RNAs in addition to a protein-coding transcript[3].
