Target intelligence / Profile preview
BMP8B antisense RNA 1 (BMP8B-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on the antisense strand to the BMP8B gene[3]. It does not code for a protein and its functional roles have not been well characterized in the literature. As a non-coding RNA, BMP8B-AS1 is distinct from the protein-coding bone morphogenetic protein 8B (BMP8B) gene and should not be confused with it. There is currently insufficient evidence supporting its status as a therapeutic target, and there are no documented roles in major disease processes or interactions with drugs. Detailed molecular mechanisms or associations with patient biomarkers, mechanisms of action for drugs, or safety concerns have not been reported for BMP8B-AS1[3].
