Bordetella pertussis antigens are the molecular targets used in vaccines to induce immunity against *B. pertussis*, the causative agent of whooping cough. These antigens can be either whole inactivated bacterial cells (wP) or purified components (aP) such as pertussis toxin (PT), filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), pertactin (PRN), and fimbriae. They are employed in vaccines to stimulate antibody production and cellular immunity, and also used as reagents in diagnostic immunoassays.
