Target intelligence / Profile preview
Boron-10 (10B) is a stable isotope of boron known for its high neutron capture cross-section. It is utilized in nuclear reactors, Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) for cancer treatment, semiconductor manufacturing to improve radiation resistance, and scientific research. When boron-10 captures a neutron, it undergoes a nuclear reaction, emitting alpha particles and lithium-7, which are used to kill cancer cells in BNCT or control nuclear chain reactions in reactors.
