Botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT/A) is a highly potent neurotoxic protein produced by *Clostridium botulinum*. It acts as a zinc-dependent endopeptidase that cleaves SNAP-25, a SNARE protein essential for acetylcholine release, resulting in flaccid paralysis. BoNT/A is used therapeutically to treat dystonia, muscle spasticity, hyperhidrosis, and migraines, and cosmetically for wrinkle reduction.
