Target intelligence / Profile preview
Botulinum neurotoxin serotype G (BoNT/G) is one of the seven antigenically distinct serotypes of botulinum neurotoxins. It blocks neurotransmitter release at neuromuscular junctions by cleaving VAMP/synaptobrevin within the SNARE complex, leading to flaccid paralysis. BoNT/G binds neurons via Synaptotagmin I and gangliosides. It exists as part of a toxin complex with NTNH, HA70, and HA17 proteins.
Cleaves VAMP/synaptobrevin SNARE protein; inhibits acetylcholine release
