BRAF V600E Kinase (BRAF(V600E))

Target
BRAF(V600E)
Molecular classification
Protein Kinase, Serine/threonine-protein kinase, Enzyme
01

Overview

BRAF(V600E) kinase is a mutant form of the B-Raf protein, a serine/threonine-specific protein kinase. The V600E mutation results in constitutive activation of the kinase, leading to continuous downstream signaling through the MAPK/ERK pathway, promoting uncontrolled cell proliferation and survival. It is a significant oncogenic driver and therapeutic target in several cancers, including melanoma, colorectal cancer, and thyroid carcinoma.
