Overview

BRI3 binding protein (BRI3BP) is an intracellular protein widely expressed in various tissues, most abundantly in the brain, liver, and kidney. It is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria, where it regulates cellular stress responses and is involved in tumorigenesis, potentially by stabilizing the tumor suppressor protein p53 (TP53). BRI3BP is implicated in cancer biology through protein-protein interactions and may serve as a molecular marker for cancer, although it is not a typical drug target like a receptor or enzyme.
