Broad microbial cells on contacted surfaces refers to the diverse populations of bacteria, viruses, and fungi that reside on environmental objects, often termed fomites. These microorganisms are significant in the context of public health as they serve as reservoirs for infectious agents, contributing to the spread of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and community-acquired diseases (CDC, 2020).
