Target intelligence / Profile preview
BRD2 is a nuclear chromatin reader protein belonging to the BET family. It binds to acetylated lysine residues on histone tails, influencing transcription, cell cycle progression, and alternative splicing. It has been implicated in cancer and metabolic disorders, making it a target for BET inhibitors.
BET inhibitors disrupt bromodomain-acetyllysine interactions, preventing BRD2 and other BET proteins from binding to acetylated histones and regulating gene expression.
