Bromodomain-containing protein testis-specific (BRDT)

Target
BRDT
Molecular classification
Bromodomain and Extra-Terminal motif (BET) protein, Transcription factor, Chromatin remodeling factor
01

Overview

Bromodomain-containing protein testis-specific (BRDT) is a member of the BET (Bromodomain and Extra-Terminal motif) family of proteins. It is a chromatin remodeling factor that plays a crucial role in spermiogenesis and the regulation of gene expression during spermatogenesis. BRDT is expressed specifically in male germ cells and recognizes acetylated histone H4. Inhibition of BRDT is being investigated as a potential target for non-hormonal male contraception.
