BTB domain containing 10 pseudogene 2 (BTBD10P2) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome. Pseudogenes are typically non-coding and originate from ancestral genes that have lost their protein-coding potential through gene duplication or retrotransposition followed by inactivating mutations. BTBD10P2 does not encode a known protein, and no canonical biological or pathological functions have been described. Its parent gene, BTBD10, encodes a BTB (Broad-Complex, Tramtrack and Bric à brac) domain-containing protein, but BTBD10P2 itself remains functionally silent and is not categorized as a therapeutic target. While certain pseudogenes can regulate the expression of related genes or participate in RNA interference pathways, there is no specific evidence suggesting BTBD10P2 has such roles. BTBD10P2 should be considered a non-functional genetic element in current scientific and medical contexts.
