Target intelligence / Profile preview
BTB domain containing 7 pseudogene 1 (BTBD7P1) is classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a DNA sequence similar to the functional gene BTB domain containing 7 (BTBD7) but is generally considered non-functional and does not code for a protein. There are no peer-reviewed reports of BTBD7P1 being a therapeutic, diagnostic, or biological target, nor are there reported roles for BTBD7P1 in physiological processes or diseases. If this refers erroneously to BTBD7, the functional gene, BTBD7 is a BTB/POZ domain-containing protein involved in epithelial branching morphogenesis, EMT (epithelial–mesenchymal transition), development, and several cancers, but these properties do not apply to the pseudogene BTBD7P1.
