Target intelligence / Profile preview
Budding uninhibited by benzimidazoles 1 kinase (BUB1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a central role in the mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) and chromosome congression during cell division. It ensures accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis by stabilizing kinetochore-microtubule attachments and preventing premature progression into anaphase. Overexpression or dysregulation of BUB1 has been linked with various cancers and high levels often correlate with poor prognosis.
