Butyrophilin subfamily 3 member A (BTN3A) refers to a family of cell surface proteins, including BTN3A1, BTN3A2, and BTN3A3. These molecules are part of the immunoglobulin superfamily and are closely related to the B7 co-stimulatory family. They play critical roles in immune regulation, particularly in modulating T cell responses and γδ T cell activation.
