Overview
C–C motif chemokine ligand 17 (CCL17), also known as thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC), is a member of the CC chemokine family. It is a small, secreted protein involved in immune cell signaling and trafficking, particularly in attracting T lymphocytes to sites of inflammation or tissue injury. It acts primarily as a chemoattractant for T lymphocytes—especially Th2-type helper T cells—by binding to its receptor CCR4.
