Overview
CCR1 is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds several C-C type chemokines. It plays a crucial role in immune cell migration, inflammation, and immune responses. It mediates the recruitment of effector immune cells to sites of inflammation and is involved in regulating leukocyte trafficking during hematopoiesis and both innate and adaptive immunity. Altered function or expression of CCR1 has been linked to inflammatory diseases such as asthma/allergic airway disease and retinal degeneration.
