Chemokine (C-C motif) Receptor 2 (CCR2)

Target
CCR2
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor, Receptor
01

Overview

CCR2 is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that primarily functions as a receptor for several chemokines, most notably monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2). It plays a central role in mediating the migration of monocytes/macrophages and lymphocytes to sites of inflammation. It is implicated in various pathologies including liver disease, cardiovascular disease, CNS disorders, and cancer.
