Overview
C-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CCR4), also known as CD194, is a G protein-coupled receptor primarily functioning as a cell-surface receptor for CC chemokines CCL17 (TARC) and CCL22 (MDC). It plays a key role in immune system development, inflammation, and cell migration, especially of Th2 cells and Tregs. CCR4 is implicated in several pathological conditions, including allergic diseases and cancer, particularly CTCL, and is a target for therapeutic intervention.
