C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 9 (CCR9)

Target
CCR9
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor, Beta chemokine receptor, Receptor
01

Overview

C-C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that binds to CCL25/TECK. It regulates migration, maturation, proliferation, and apoptosis of leukocytes, particularly T lymphocytes. CCR9 is highly expressed in the thymus, small intestine, and colon and plays a key role in directing immune cell homing to the small intestine. It is implicated in various inflammation-related diseases and cancer.
