Target intelligence / Profile preview
C-C motif chemokine ligand 20 (CCL20) is a chemokine that acts as a chemotactic factor, primarily attracting lymphocytes and playing a role in immune responses by recruiting Th17 and Treg cells to sites of inflammation. It is involved in the formation of mucosal lymphoid tissues and exhibits antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria. CCL20's expression is induced by inflammatory stimuli and it signals through the CCR6 receptor. Dysregulation of CCL20 is implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer progression.
