Target intelligence / Profile preview

C-C motif chemokine ligand 24 (CCL24)

Target
CCL24
Molecular classification
Chemokine, CC chemokine
01

Overview

CCL24, also known as eotaxin-2, is a small secreted cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. It acts primarily as a chemoattractant, strongly inducing migration of eosinophils via interaction with the CCR3 receptor. It is involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes and is implicated in diseases such as asthma, atopic dermatitis, and primary sclerosing cholangitis. Therapeutic targeting of CCL24 or its pathway is being explored for various immune-mediated disorders.
