C-C motif chemokine ligand 25 (CCL25)

C-C motif chemokine ligand 25 is a small cytokine in the CC chemokine family, also known as thymus-expressed chemokine (TECK), encoded by the CCL25 gene on chromosome 19[1][2][3][6]. It is primarily involved in the development of T-cells, acting as a chemotactic factor for thymocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, and functions by binding to the CCR9 receptor[1]. CCL25 also demonstrates antimicrobial effects against pathogens such as E. coli and S. aureus and plays a regulatory role in immunity and disease contexts such as colorectal cancer[5].
