C-C Motif Chemokine Receptor 2 (CCR2)

Target
CCR2
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor
01

Overview

CCR2, also known as CD192, is a G protein-coupled receptor that serves as a high-affinity receptor for several chemokines, most notably CCL2 (MCP-1). It plays critical roles in the immune system and inflammatory processes, particularly in monocyte chemotaxis and migration to inflammatory sites. CCR2 is implicated in various pathological conditions, including inflammatory diseases, liver pathology, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic disorders. Due to its involvement in these disease processes, CCR2 has emerged as a potential therapeutic target.
