Overview

CD302 (C-type lectin domain family 13 member A; CD302 antigen) is a single-pass type I transmembrane C-type lectin receptor expressed in liver cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, and other tissues[7][8]. Its protein consists of a C-type lectin domain that binds carbohydrates in a calcium-dependent manner[3][9][10]. CD302 contributes to cellular adhesion, migration, and immune surveillance by enabling phagocytosis and endocytosis, especially in antigen-presenting cells. In the liver, CD302 mediates intrinsic antiviral defense by restricting hepatitis C virus entry, though it does not impact downstream nuclear receptor gene signaling[1]. Its expression and function are being studied for cancer cell migration and in broader models of infection and immunity. No approved drugs currently target CD302 directly; ongoing research suggests it may be a valuable therapeutic target in antiviral and anticancer strategies.
