Overview

C-type lectin domain family 4 member G (CLEC4G), also known as LSECtin, is a glycan-binding receptor belonging to the C-type lectin family and is expressed on liver and lymph node sinusoidal endothelial cells[1][8]. It binds specific carbohydrates including mannose, N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), and fucose in a calcium-dependent manner[1][4]. CLEC4G plays a functional role in the immune response, particularly in the recognition and clearance of glycosylated pathogens, and helps regulate T cell-mediated immunity[5][8]. It is localized to the cell membrane, expressed primarily in the liver and lymph nodes, and is a type II transmembrane protein with documented glycosylation[1][4][8]. CLEC4G has been implicated as a negative immune marker and may serve as a potential therapeutic target in infectious and tumoral contexts, although no approved drugs specifically target this molecule to date[3][8].
