C-type lectin domain family 4 member G pseudogene 1 (CLEC4GP1) is a human pseudogene, meaning it is genetically similar to protein-coding genes (such as C-type lectin family members) but does not produce a functional protein. Recent evidence suggests that CLEC4GP1 can affect trophoblast cell function through regulatory effects on mRNA stability, specifically altering cell viability, invasion, and apoptosis via modulation of IL-15 signaling.
