CLEC6A, also known as Dectin-2, is a type II transmembrane protein and pattern recognition receptor primarily expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells. It recognizes α-mannans and high-mannose structures present on fungal cell walls and other pathogens, triggering an immune response via the CARD9-Bcl10-Malt1 pathway. CLEC6A is implicated in antifungal immunity and allergic responses to environmental allergens like house dust mites.
