C-type lectin receptors (CLRs) are a large superfamily of pattern-recognition receptors that recognize carbohydrate structures on pathogens and self-antigens. They are primarily expressed on myeloid cells and play a central role in innate and adaptive immunity. CLR signaling leads to the activation of downstream pathways such as SYK, NF-κB, and MAPK, resulting in the production of cytokines, phagocytosis, and other cellular responses.
