Overview
C-X-C chemokine receptor type 3B (CXCR3-B) is an isoform of the CXCR3 receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR). CXCR3-B is primarily known for its immunoangiostatic role, inhibiting endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis, and promoting apoptosis. It binds the CXC chemokines CXCL9, CXCL10, and CXCL11, but elicits different downstream effects compared to the CXCR3-A isoform, which primarily promotes cell migration. CXCR3-B expression is found in various tissues including endothelial cells. Altered expression or function is implicated in cancer (due to its antiangiogenic activity) and autoimmune diseases.
