C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 10 (CXCL10)

Target
CXCL10
Molecular classification
CXC chemokine, Chemokine, Cytokine
01

Overview

CXCL10, also known as IP-10, is a chemokine secreted by various cell types in response to IFN-γ. It acts primarily through the CXCR3 receptor to attract and activate immune cells, playing a critical role in inflammation, immune responses, and tissue damage. It is also involved in anti-tumor activity and inhibition of angiogenesis. Aberrant CXCL10 expression is associated with numerous diseases, making it a potential biomarker and therapeutic target.

02

Mechanism of action

CXCL10 binds to the CXCR3 receptor, leading to downstream signaling events that promote leukocyte migration, adhesion, and activation. Its anti-angiogenic activity is mediated through inhibition of endothelial cell proliferation and migration.
