C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 17 (CXCL17) is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It is primarily known as a mucosal chemokine that attracts immature dendritic cells and blood monocytes, especially to the lungs. CXCL17 plays important roles in immune cell recruitment, angiogenesis, and maintaining homeostasis at mucosal barriers such as the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.
