C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 3 (CXCL3)

Target
CXCL3
Molecular classification
Chemokine, Cytokine, CXC chemokine
01

Overview

CXCL3, also known as chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 3, is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It acts primarily through the CXCR2 receptor, mediating neutrophil chemotaxis and inflammation. It plays roles in tumorigenesis through tumor cell differentiation, invasion and migration. High levels correlate with advanced tumor stage, high grade tumors, lymph node metastasis, poor prognosis. It is also referred to as GROγ (GRO protein gamma), GRO3 oncogene, and macrophage inflammatory protein-2-beta (MIP2b).
