C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8 (CXCL8)

CXCL8, also known as Interleukin-8 (IL-8), is a chemokine produced by various cell types. It plays a central role in mediating inflammatory responses and acts primarily as a chemoattractant for neutrophils but also affects basophils and T-cells. It is associated with various diseases including Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Melanoma, and Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. Overproduction contributes to chronic inflammation and cancer.
