C-X-C Motif Chemokine Receptor 1 (CXCR1)

Target
CXCR1
Molecular classification
G-protein-coupled receptor, Receptor
01

Overview

CXCR1 is a G-protein-coupled receptor that binds the chemokine IL-8/CXCL8 with high affinity. It is primarily expressed on neutrophils and mediates their chemotaxis and activation during inflammation. CXCR1 plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response and is implicated in various diseases, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. It is a potential therapeutic target for modulating inflammation and tumor microenvironment.

Interleukin 8 receptor, alphaIL8RACD181

Mechanism of action

CXCR1 antagonists/blockers inhibit the binding of IL-8/CXCL8 and CXCL6 to the receptor, thereby preventing downstream signaling and reducing neutrophil chemotaxis and activation.
