Target intelligence / Profile preview

C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4)

Target
CXCR4
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor
01

Overview

CXCR4 is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds to CXCL12 (SDF-1) and plays diverse roles in the immune system, hematopoiesis, development, and viral infection. It is involved in chemotaxis, cell migration, and acts as a coreceptor for HIV entry. Dysregulation is implicated in diseases such as WHIM syndrome and cancer metastasis.
