C12orf42 antisense RNA 1 (C12orf42-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA gene located on chromosome 12 (chr12:103151824-103179247, hg38)[1]. It is transcribed from the opposite strand of the C12orf42 gene locus and classified as a non-coding RNA. While many antisense RNAs play roles in regulating gene expression via cis or trans interactions, epigenetic modulation, and transcriptional interference, there is currently no experimental evidence specifying the biological function, disease relevance, or drug interactions of C12orf42-AS1[1][4][6].
