Overview

C16orf95 divergent transcript (C16orf95-DT) is a long non-coding RNA mapped to chromosome 16q24.2. As a divergent (antisense) transcript, it is transcribed from the opposite strand near the C16orf95 gene, and is suggested to participate in regulation of gene expression at the transcriptional and epigenetic level, consistent with the general function of divergent lncRNAs. C16orf95-DT is upregulated in several cancers, including bladder cancer and uterine endometrial carcinoma, indicating it may play a role in cancer biology, likely through modulation of chromatin state or recruitment of transcription factors[1][2]. There are no known small-molecule drugs or biologics targeted to this lncRNA, and it is not a direct therapeutic target.
