C2H2 zinc finger protein pseudogene (ENSG00000228303) is a nonfunctional genetic locus similar to members of the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family. C2H2-type zinc finger proteins comprise the largest class of human transcription factors, distinguished by the presence of the C2H2 zinc finger motif—a small structural domain stabilized by a zinc ion, and primarily serving as a DNA-binding domain in active family members[2][4][5][6]. The pseudogene, however, does not encode a functional protein and is not implicated in any known molecular pathways or disease mechanisms[1].
