Target intelligence / Profile preview
CACNB2 antisense RNA 2 (CACNB2-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the strand opposite that of the CACNB2 gene[7]. Antisense RNAs such as CACNB2-AS2 often modulate the expression of their sense gene counterparts (here, CACNB2), potentially impacting RNA stability, translation, or splicing through cis or trans regulatory mechanisms[2][6]. However, there are currently no peer-reviewed studies specifically characterizing the function, regulatory role, or disease relevance of CACNB2-AS2. Most available information is based on automated gene annotation, and there is no evidence that this RNA is a direct therapeutic target, nor are there clinically relevant drugs, mechanisms of action, or biomarker uses attributed to it at this time[7].
