Calcium-transporting ATPase type 2C member 1 (ATP2C1)

Target
ATP2C1
Molecular classification
P-type cation transport ATPase, Enzyme, Transporter
01

Overview

Calcium-transporting ATPase type 2C member 1 (ATP2C1) is a P-type cation transport ATPase that transports Ca²⁺ and Mn²⁺ into the Golgi apparatus. It is essential for calcium and manganese homeostasis, protein sorting, and Golgi morphology. Mutations in ATP2C1 cause Hailey-Hailey disease, a skin disorder characterized by impaired cell adhesion among keratinocytes.
