Target intelligence / Profile preview
Calmodulin 1 pseudogene 2 (CALM1P2/TCAG_1643085) is an intronless, non-functional DNA sequence in the human genome, homologous to the calmodulin 1 gene (CALM1), but contains mutations that abolish the open reading frame and prevent protein expression. It is classified as a processed pseudogene and is not involved in any known cellular or disease process. There is no evidence that this pseudogene is transcribed or translated into a functional product, nor does it play a role in signal transduction, cell cycle regulation, or human disease. CALM1P2 should not be considered a therapeutic target.
