Calmodulin-like protein 3 (CALML3) is a calcium-binding protein encoded by the CALML3 gene, and is structurally related to calmodulin[1][2][4][5]. It may act as a specific light chain for unconventional myosin-10 (MYO10), potentially enhancing MYO10 translation or serving as a chaperone for the emerging MYO10 heavy chain[1][5]. CALML3 can bind calcium ions and may compete with calmodulin by interacting with different cellular substrates. It is mainly located in extracellular exosomes. Although related to disease pathways and some conditions, CALML3 is not a recognized drug target or receptor and has no established interacting drugs or known biomarker uses[1][4][5].
