Overview

CAMK2G antisense RNA 1 (CAMK2G-AS1) is presumed to be a non-coding RNA, transcribed from the region antisense to the CAMK2G gene. As of current curated knowledge, it has not been functionally characterized in experimental literature or databases, is not established as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or molecular mechanism of disease. All existing disease association and mechanism data concern the protein-coding gene CAMK2G, which encodes the gamma isoform of calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II with critical roles in neurodevelopment, neuronal maturation, plasticity, and some forms of intellectual disability[1][3][2]. There is no evidence that CAMK2G-AS1 is involved in these processes or is actionable in drug discovery or clinical research.
