CAMTA1 antisense RNA 2 (CAMTA1-AS2)

Target
CAMTA1-AS2
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)
01

Overview

CAMTA1 antisense RNA 2 (CAMTA1-AS2) is presumably a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the CAMTA1 locus. There are currently no experimentally validated reports or functional studies describing CAMTA1-AS2 in the biomedical literature or major gene/protein databases. This distinguishes it from CAMTA1, a calmodulin-binding transcription activator with known CNS and tumor suppressor functions. Information on CAMTA1-AS2 may be absent due to it being a predicted transcript, having limited tissue expression, or being misnamed. To date, "CAMTA1-AS2" is not established as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or disease-related gene.
