Cancer Antigen 125 (CA125/MUC16)

Target
CA125/MUC16
Molecular classification
Mucin, Glycoprotein
01

Overview

Cancer Antigen 125 (CA125), also known as MUC16, is a high molecular weight glycoprotein and a member of the mucin family. It is involved in cell adhesion, tumor proliferation, metastasis, and immune modulation. Elevated serum levels are associated with epithelial ovarian cancer and are used for monitoring disease progression and response to therapy. It is an emerging target for antibody-mediated immunotherapy.
