Cancer-Associated Fibroblast Phenotype Modulation (CAF Phenotype Modulation)

Target
CAF Phenotype Modulation
Molecular classification
Cellular Process, Microenvironment Modulation
01

Overview

Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are a major component of the tumor microenvironment (TME). The modulation of CAF phenotype refers to the processes by which these cells are activated, maintained, or reprogrammed within tumors, influencing cancer progression, metastasis, immune evasion, and therapy resistance. These processes can be targeted therapeutically to revert or suppress pro-tumorigenic functions of CAFs.
