Overview

Cancer cell selective replication refers to the ability of certain therapeutic agents—most notably, engineered viruses or small molecules—to preferentially replicate within and kill cancer cells while sparing normal, healthy cells. This selectivity is often achieved by exploiting unique molecular defects or stress responses present in cancer cells but absent in normal tissue.
